Tramore Chernobyl Children’s Holiday Fund was founded in 1995 and is a non profit, registered charity.
In the summers of 1996 and 1997 groups of 12 Children from the Orphanage in Vasilevichi for Blind and Partially Sighted Children, with a teacher and interpreter, and were hosted by a large number of Tramore families.
From 1998 to 2004, each year a number of Children were hosted for a weekend by Tramore families and took part in a special Mass.  Our committee worked with the Vision for Vasilevichi committee each year for the three weeks the children were in Waterford.
During the children's three week stay in Waterford we organised a number of day long activities in Tramore and Dunhill for the children.
In early October since 2003 members of our committee have travelled to Belarus to visit the orphanage in Vasilevichi, where they organise shoes, clothing, fruit and school equipment for the children and school according to their particular needs.
This summer, 2007, we brought twelve children, a teacher and interpreter to Tramore for a three week stay from Monday 25th June to Monday July 16th July.  Two children stayed with a family for one week,  a total of eighteen families hosted  our special visitors from Belarus. We would like to thank these families for their time and generosity to the children.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of those who sponsored the children and those who have helped and supported us over the years.
